ALYMO'S GUIDE TO:
TIE- DYE CARE

Extra care in making clothes also means extra care in making sure they last us for a long time.

Taking care of tie-dyed items can be tricky but it can be done with these simple steps!

HAND WASH SEPARATELY
COLD WATER
DO NOT SOAK
HANG DRY

*Expect excess dye bleed and some colour fade

HAND WASH SEPARATELY
The best way to wash your tie-dyed pieces is individually in a bucket of cold water with your usual laundry soap. I now use a new colourfast formula so you don't have to worry too much if you accidentally throw this in the washing machine. However, it is definitely still recommended to wash this separately from whites to avoid colouring your other clothing!

COLD WATER
Hot water makes dye fade faster so cold water is recommended.

DO NOT SOAK
Soaking increases the chances of excess dye from your piece to colour the white/un-dyed areas. Soaking for 2 minutes is fine but avoid soaking for longer, a quick hand wash is substantial.

HANG DRY
Lastly,  wring your apparel and hang dry. My apparel are dryer safe but it is best to hang dry your piece for extra longevity. Again, make sure it is drying away from whites.

All my hand-dyed items are dyed by me and unlike factory made or printed tie-dyes, these are one-of-a-kind pieces.  These pieces are all individually hand washed and dyed with non-toxic, colourfast formula to ensure it looking fresh over the years. Tie-dyes naturally evolve overtime with sun exposure and washes - that's the beauty of it!
